Ghanaian Student, Mustapha Diyaol Haqq Creates Breast Cancer Detection System

A high school student in Ghana has successfully created a system that uses a predictive analytic
model to detect breast cancer.
Mustapha Diyaol Haqq is currently studying at TI Ahmadiyya High School in Kumasi and is working on an artificial intelligence model to diagnose and predict breast cancer.

The teenager is also a content developer, code instructor and volunteer with the Ghana Code Club.
” I work as a code instructor and mentor at the Ghana Code Club. I trained myself to code and build a file. I also wrote my first research paper on the use of predictive analytics to diagnose breast cancer, “ he said.

The machine learning / artificial intelligence system uses two main classifications, malignant (cancerous) and benign (non-cancerous) to classify a cancerous breast tumor.

” The goal is to classify whether breast cancer is benign or malignant and to predict recurrence and non-recurrence of malignant cases after a certain period of time.”
” To achieve this goal, we used automatic learning classification methods to adapt a function that can predict the discrete class of new inputs,” Mustapha said.
