Nigerians Storm UK Embassy, Protest $9.6bn Judgement

Countless Nigerians aren't pleased with the court ruling in favor of British firm to take over Nigeria's costliest asset.

Several individuals, Coalition of Civil Society Groups today Monday protested at the United Kingdom High Commission in Abuja over the court judgment granted to Process and Industrial Development Ltd to take over $9.6bn worth of Nigeria’s asset.

The protesters vow to continue their action all through the month of September until the judgement is reversed.

They carried various placards with inscription such as “$9.6bn judgement is a fraud,” “No to illegal take over of our national assets,” “Nigeria rejects fraudulent judgment from British judge,” among others... As at the time of filing this report the British High Commissioner or any high ranking staff in the Embassy is yet to make official comment to the thousands of protesters presently protesting in Abuja.
