Sowore, who was released after 124 days in DSS detention on the evening of Thursday, December 5, was back in court on the morning of Friday, December 6, for the commencement of his trial on the charge of treasonable felony.
However, just as Sowore was making his way out of the court, DSS operatives made attempts to whisk him and his co-defendants, Olawale Bakare, away.
According to report, Femi Falana (SAN), the counsel to Sowore, and the prosecution counsel, Hassan Liman (SAN) were seen approaching the judge’s chamber.
Falana confirmed to a Channels TV news programme on Friday, December 6, that he drove Sowore to DSS's office in Abuja because they said they had fresh questions for him.
Sowore, he said, was subsequently detained by the secret police.
Falana said he chose to drive Sowore to DSS headquarters after things got rowdy when operatives of the security agency made attempts to rearrest the activist inside the courtroom and were resisted by Sowore's supporters.
